Our interest rate is adjusted on January 1, and July 1 of each year based on the New York prime rate as published in the Wall Street Journal. As of today, January 31, 2008 the prime rate is 6.00% APR* and with our two point adjustment, our current rate is 8.00% APR*. And we pay all closing costs on loans of $10,000.00 or more.
The home equity loan process is simple and painless. When we receive your completed application, we call our appraiser to obtain a certified appraisal of your home. Based on this appraisal, we calculate 85% of the appraised value, and subtract the balance of your first mortgage to determine your available credit limit. Our home equity loan provides flexibility for your borrowing needs, as a line of credit is established, and you do not have to borrow the full credit limit at one time.
